Hello everyone. I am very glad to be in this forum.
I am French, and am learning Italian so that I can discover and appreciate more of those great Disney comics made in Italy, which are among my favorites!
I have loved Disney comics ever since I was very little; they were my introduction to stories as a whole.
I grew up and forgot a bit about them, turning to things like manga. But, many years later, I rediscovered them by finding Topolino magazines in original Italian. Many stories that were never in French.
Recently, I bought many old Disney comics and studied them so that I could learn more of the comic's universe, draw the characters myself and bring to life an old dream.
I have recently drawn Duck/Papero-related comics and illustrations:

A short comic with a joke I always wanted to make.
Fancomic of La Spada di Ghiaccio, with the Principe delle Nebbie, Alf and Goofy.
The first "Duck" comic I did. It's not even official Disney characters, but I was directly inspired by the comics.

Parody of Weird Science poster (La Donna Esplosiva), with Margherita from Paperino e la cotta di Paperoga (http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=I+PM++214-1).
Parody of The Breakfast Club, also directed by John Hughes.

Parody of Sixteen Candles (Un compleanno da ricordare) poster, also directed by John Hughes.
Donald and Fethry with Simone and Olga, two ladies from Brazilian story Uma Patinha Na Patada (http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=B+840076).
But we know who is Donald's true love!
I like beautiful girls, even duck girls.

I love 80's and 90's retro imagery; my early Disney comic magazines helped in that...
I hope to share my passion with you...
Grazie, tutti. Io spero che potrò parlare bene italiano per più partecipare nello forum.

Well done, Orora :)
Your pictures are beautiful.
Expecially the first sketch is very funny ;D
Congratulayions, I hope you'll be fine in this forum.
-
Benvenuto!
Your illustrations are really cool, well done! :)
As for learning Italian, Topolino is probably the best choice! I live in Finland, and reading the local Disney magazines has helped me a lot with my Finnish skills...
-
Welcome! Very good drawings and gag! ;)
-
Tante grazie, tutti! Mi piacciono!
(spero che lo ho scritto correttamente!)
-
Hello Orora and welcome! :)
Congratulations for your drawings and gags!
I remember to have found at Marché aux Puces in Paris a lot of old magazine 'Le Journal de Mickey' preWar and fourties in good conditions and price (6-7 euros). Very similar to preWar italian journal Topolino that, however, in Italy is possible to find in smaller quantities (and higher prices, sometimes).
I found a lot of 'Les Trésors de Picsou', very good series.
Now in Italy the new publisher Panini is putting out many interesting new series of Disney comic books: what about Hachette in your country?
-
Woah! Those are wonderful drawings and I chuckled a lot at the McScrooge gag ;D
Also, I love the movie "Weird Science", that' a nice tribute! Keep up the good work!
-
Welcome, you love disney comics? This is the "place" for you. ;)
Congratulations for your drawing and for the gags are very nice. ;D
I hope that you'll be fine with us. :)
-
Thank you everybody, you are so kind!
To Cornelius Coot: well, there have recently been many new anthologies of Carl Barks published by Glénat (I haven't heard of Hachette since my childhood, strangely) and the Trésors de Picsou come out on a regular basis, although it has become a bit difficult to find completely new stories...
I tend to find my Disney comics and magazines in used bookstores, and because I try to find specific stories, I use InDucks and order online the best combination.
Wonder if I'll translate the comics I have made in Italian? (there are other Duck comics that I haven't posted) Of course, the "McScrooge" one just cannot work in Italian, purtroppo.
Again, tante grazie.

Hi Orora, welcome in this forum and congratulations for your comics, very nice and well done, especially the first you posted, I found it very funny! ;)
Unfortunately my english is not good enough to talk about comics as I would, I hope you will enjoy this forum.
:)
-
Also I give you welcome, Orora :D ;D
-
Welcome Orora! Happy to see another English speaker (I see you are quite fluent C:)! Oh man, your art is great! I love your style -- and that fast-food comic was hilarious!
Happy to see your learning Italian too (I've postponed my own learning to after I get better at Spanish, then it shouldn't be too hard to learn Italian). Awesome :D!
-
I saw your pictures just few minutes ago: many congratulations, they are so well done! The first sketch is fantastic, really funny, and I love every character in the first picture, especially the look of the little girl sitting on the bench near “Ronald McScrooge”! :)
As a child I went sometimes in France with my parents and they bought me some “Le Journal de Mickey”, “Picsou Magazine”, “Mickey Poche”, “Mickey Parade”, that I still keep in my home with pleasure. Nice to meet you here, hope you’ll enjoy with us and post again some new picture! :)
-
Welcome!
Your strip is very, very funny!
(sorry for little message, but how you're trying to learn Italian, I'm trying to learn English, and not very well :P )
-
Welcome Orora, and congratulations for your art!
I've found very hilarious the first in particular, because it remembered me when I was a child and I really thought that McDONALD had something in relation with Donald Duck, but I can't understand what it was. I was young, of course, but the connection still remains very stupid! :P
Of course you've chosen the best way to learn italian! I'm trying to improve my english reading Don Rosa's and Barks' comics in the original language, too, and it sure helps a lot!
A curiosity: what kind of italian stories and/or authors do you like most? :)
-
Thank you, I am glad people keep answering even a month later!
It's so nice you like my comic strip. I'd like to do more of them, although I have trouble thinking of funny ideas (the McDonald one was on my mind for years!).
I don't have specific kind of story or authors I like, I enjoy each story individually...
But then, I could safely say Massimo de Vita is one of my top favorite Italian authors!
I think I will open a new topic in Italian to post my drawings and comics, translated (including others that are not here). Is that a good idea?

Thank you so much!!

Great artist! Congratulations ;)

Thank you very much!
I think I can show you this comic I drew some time ago... starring Donald Duck and Howard the Duck (by Marvel):
(http://i68.servimg.com/u/f68/11/37/25/27/howard11.jpg) (http://www.deviantart.com/art/Howard-the-Duck-and-Donald-Duck-497579938)
... and Super Duck.
Don't know who Super Duck is? Check this out. (http://www.misterkitty.org/extras/stupidcovers/stupidcomics136.html) The fact that he is a ripoff is not even the worst problem. ;)

compliments, orora. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Great artist, great gag! :D

Hello again!
I don't understand why, but I couldn't write and log in anymore!
My account is called "Ex Utente", and I don't know if I did anything wrong to be banned. :( If I did, please explain to me.
Apparently, this is a bug on the forum? There is somebody else who had this problem?
Anyway, I just wanted to understand. Thank you very much for allowing me back under the same username, just to sort things out.
-
Hi, don't worry, it's just a bug. It happened to other users. I think Paolo will resolve it. ;)

Ah, I am relieved! Thank you.

Hello, I haven't been here in a long time, but I'm back!
I have made more Disney duck parody art!
Do you know the indie game Doki Doki Literature Club? I have drawn a DuckTales parody:
For reference, this is how Doki Doki Literature Club looks like:

And the DuckTales image I used as reference:
