1. Images from the
very first comics appeared in USA newspaper, there are: Blondie, Joe
Carioca, a double Disney page with 5 different series, and the last
one is an original Segar Popeye sunday page.. something I'd like to
have framed in my house... :-) |

2. A board game
featuring Mickey |
3. In the first
picture you can see the Induckser Nicola Raimondi's back while he's
checking some "Albi della Rosa" issues, there weren't many
interesting comics for sale.. at least there weren't at reasonable
prieces! |
4. An exhibition
devoted to Batman - the dark knight... *very* dark as you can see
from the pictures! ;-) |
5. Don Rosa appears at the
convention and starts signing autographs... |
6. Don Rosa just had an
introduction to Sergio Bonelli (the one with dark green coat), one
of the most important people in Italian world of comics |
7. The meeting
with the fan for Don was very interesting, he also told us something
about HDL's parents, but I won't spoil you the surprise! In the
pictures you can also spot Lidia Cannatella, Luca Boschi, Alberto
Becattini and Harry Fluks (the one who's shooting a picture!). As
you can see there was a lot of people! |

8. A weird expression by our
Don... |
9. Sergio Bonelli looking at
some of the books reprinting stories with his characters (Tex,
Martin Mystere, Dylan Dog, etc....) |
10. There are
some covers made by Don to parody the most famous super-heroes
comics, some of them were already knew on the internet, but there
were many others: all very funny! Too bad the pictures aren't as
good as the covers deserve!! The one parodying Superman (Donald
throwing his 313 on a rock) is one of my preferred. Only someone
who **really** loves both Disney Ducks and all the other comics
could produce something like that! Really well done, Don! It would
be interesting to see all the covers published somewhere in a good
format! |

11. The exhibition
"Magica - The art of Don Rosa": very interesting, but very hard to
photograph: the glasses covering the original art were reflecting
too much the flash lights! BTW, there was also a copy of the old
dime!! |
12. Harry Fluks, Don Rosa
and Fabio Gadducci talking... and eating! |
41. Incredibly
old comics, original drawings from Phantom, Prince Valiant, Peanuts,
Krazy Kat and also Gottfredson's Mickey Mouse! |

13. Me & Don |
14. Don doing my fan
drawing! Thanks again, Don! :-) |
15. Me, Nicola and
Harry with a good old friend: Magica! |
16. The world's
oldest original art for a comic: Outcault's "Yellow Kid"! Something
really worth the visit to the convention!!! The other images is
supposed to be a Windsor McKay "Little Nemo", but the photo is
terrible, sorry! |
17. Interesting
stuff for sale! |
18. There was also the
premiere of the movie "Daredevil", one of the few (*very* few) super
hero comics I ever read... |
19. As you can see, someone
"not-too-well-informed" used a Cent instead of a dime for Uncle
Scrooge first coin.... an old inconsistent Italian mix-up |
20. Some images of
Castel Sant'Elmo, where the exhibition was organized |
