-----------------------
[
Yo! Really, really excited to see that you are heavily trying to use Barks (and Rosa?) comics in the new show! Just asking are you going to implement anything from the Italian comics or are you sticking with the two big Americans?]
This is where you ask about Fethry and PK, isn’t it? Rest assured, everything is potentially on the table. We want to pull from as broad a spectrum of the Duck Universe as possible.

[
Are there any plans to see a younger Scrooge and his family in the new DuckTales series?]
Heck yes.
-----------------------
With a few tweaks here and there, our Scrooge's origin lines up with Life and Times.
-----------------------
Taking lots of versions into account, but we started with the Rosa family tree and went from there. And yes, you will see some fairly obscure McDucks and Ducks.
-----------------------
“Life and Times” is a perfect comic story told perfectly in its medium. I’d fear a straight adaptation would come off a little like the Watchmen movie; it runs the risk of always being the second best version of the story. The same goes for a lot of the Barks stories.
Best way I can describe our approach is to relate it to the Marvel films: taking the most important/iconic elements of these characters and our favorite stories and creating something new that still gives you the feeling of reading those stories in a modern time frame.
Which is all to say, I’d be terrified of screwing it up.
-----------------------
I want to reiterate, while Life and Times is a huge influence for us, in terms of characterization, tone, and history, we have no plans at the moment of doing a straight adaptation.

No immediate plans for Hortense and Matilda yet. Have some other Duck/McDuck family members to establish first.
