>>>>>After telling the story of that pretended error your text in the italian version states: "However Dana, like many other barksian experts, reproached me in other circumstances. I wish to thank sincerely everyone of them, because it means that they read with great care the chapters of Lo$, that they spent some time to read them, and they are following out my work with interest and enthusiasm. And, now, good reading to everyone!"
????? I realize that IF the editor did not make all that up himself, then it is, at best, a translation from English into Italian and now back into English, and may have become somewhat warped during those travels. However, as it is written above, that is definitely NOT something I would write. I have always had a strict policy against ANY sort of self-promotion or self-praise, so I would *never* have claimed that anyone is "following my work with interest and enthusiasm". And the line "And, now, good reading to everyone!" is also definitely not an expression I'd ever write. I would only say something like "I hope you enjoy this a bit".
And re-re-translated and warped or not, I never inserted anything like that into any texts meant for publication with my Lo$ stories. So, as I've always suspected, that "unauthorized" Italian version of my writings should be considered at least *slightly* suspect.
>>>>>IMHO you could have written that paragraph about Dana and the other barksian experts in order to thank them for their help.
That's true. I have *always* explained that I sent my original outline for my entire "Life of $crooge" series out to other Barks fans worldwide (including Barks himself) to get their input on whether I was going in the right directions. But I just don't recall writing any "Lo$" text material as you show above.
>>>>> The mystery is: what is the source used by Disney Italia for that paragraph?
Good question!
Where did you say this material appeared? In a general introduction to the whole book?
