= 1. Lucca Comics si avvicina =

Nonostante le polemiche e le note vicende, anche quest'anno Lucca 
Comics e' pronta al via, dal primo al 4 di Novembre, con un occhio 
verso i fumetti ed un altro verso i giochi, con mostre speciali 
dedicate al "Signore degli Anelli", in occasione della prossima
uscita 
del film ispirato alla saga di Tolkien.

= 2. Litografia d'autore =
============================

Voci di corridoio (ma autorevolissime) sussurrano di una prossima 
edizione "di lusso" da parte della Disney Italia, sulla falsariga di 
quanto effettuato negli anni passati dall'americana Gladstone/Another 
Rainbow.
Sembrerebbe che Giorgio Cavazzano sia stato incaricato di realizzare 
una litografia con i personaggi della Disney da destinare al mondo
dei 
collezionisti.... tutto molto interessante, se non fosse per l'idea 
delle finanze di un collezionista che sembrano avere alla Disney: il 
costo della litografia sembrerebbe essere intorno alle 700.000 lire!!

Martedi' 23 ottobre si e' inaugurato un ciclo di interessanti 
conferenze a presso il Centro Nazionale del Fumetto Anonima Fumetti 
(via Botero 17, primo piano, Torino. 011.5170147 - cnf@fumetti.org -

Le conferenze sono aperte a tutti, con ingresso libero, fino a 
esaurimento dei posti.

Il disegnatore George Gately Gallagher è morto il 30 settembre per
un 
attacco di cuore all'ospedale di Ridgewood, all'età di 72 anni.
George 
Gately, come si firmava nelle tavole, è il papà di Heathcliff, 
Isidoro, per i lettori italiani, uno tra i più simpatici gatti 
dell'universo fumettistico. Grasso e indisponente, prepotente e 
simpaticamente ribelle, Isidoro apparve per la prima volta il 3 
settembre 1973, attirandosi la simpatia dei lettori e l'attenzione 
degli editori. Attualmente compare negli Stati Uniti su circa 200 
testate, tra giornali e riviste, in svariate riviste nel mondo e si
è 
guadagnato una sua serie animata. In Italia delizia i lettori di 
Topolino dividendo lo spazio con il cane Sansone e collezioni di 
freddure. Da tre anni Gately non disegnava più la sua creatura
dopo 
averla affidata al nipote Peter Gallangher, anch'egli cartoonist. Per 
il fumetto abbandonò una promettente carriera musicale. Tra i suoi 
personaggi anche la striscia Hapless Harry, pubblicata negli anni 
Sessanta.

= 1. Lucca Comics is coming =
=============================

Nevertheless the many troubles and polemics, also this year Lucca 
Comics Convention will take place in the Tuscan city, starting on 
first of November, up to the 4th.
There will be also a special part of the exhibition devoted to games, 
with a special eye on "The Lord of the Rings", due to the next
release 
of the movie inspired to the saga from Tolkien.

= 2. A Disney Lithograph =
============================

Unconfirmed (but trusted) rumors are suggesting that a "de luxe" 
edition will be issued by Disney Italia, it will be a lithograph like 
the ones produced by Gladstone/Another Rainbow in the USA during the 
last 10 years.
Giorgio Cavazzano is the Artist called to draw this lithograph, and 
the world of collectors is their target, but there is a small doubt: 
why should a collector to buy a lithograph more than 360 euro, when
he 
can buyu an original page of a real Disney story for less than 155 
euro?

= 5. Goodbye, Heathcliff! =

A (short) translation from the news of Anonima Fumetti by Gianfranco 
Goria:

The artist George Gately Gallagher died on 30th September because of 
an heart attack in an hospital in Ridgewood, he was 72 years old. 
George Gately, as he used to sign his works, is the father of 
Heathcliff, one of the funniest cats in the comics universe. Fat and 
lazy, Heathcliff appeared for the first time on 3rd September 1973. 
Now he appears in the USA on 200 newspaper and magazines, and also
has 
a cartoon serial.
