Con la primavera inizia la grande stagione delle mostre mercato e
degli incontri del fumetto.
Su tutti spicca l’appuntamento di fine Aprile a Torino per
Torinocomics (http://www.torinocomics.com/) dove interverranno
moltissimi autori in incontri pubblici, incluso l’americano Don
Rosa. Due gli incontri che interesseranno particolare gli
appassionati Disney: venerdi’ 26 Aprile ore 16.00 Don Rosa.
Incontro con il pubblico, session di autografi e disegni (Sala
Jacovitti) e Sabato 27 ore 15.00 “DON ROSA E IL RINASCIMENTO
DISNEYANO”. Incontro con l’Autore Don Rosa. Presenziano Luca
Boschi vicepresidente Anonima Fumetti, Lidia Cannatella,
Gianfranco Goria, Alberto Becattini, Luciano Gatto, Valerio Held
(Sala Jacovitti).
A piu’ breve scadenza ricordiamo l’imminenza della mostra romana
Expocartoon (http://www.expocartoon.net/) giunta alla sua
sedicesima edizione; di nuovo nei locali dell’ente EUR, ma
stavolta, ahime’, a pagamento! Per gli appassionati di fumetto
Romani l’appuntamento e’ dal 18 al 21 Aprile.

= 2. Omaggio a Carl Barks =
===========================

In occasione dei 101 anni dalla nascita del grande Carl Barks, la
Disney Italia ha iniziato a pubblicare mensilmente su Zio
Paperone le dieci storie prodotte dalla Egmont e realizzate da
vari artisti di prima grandezza. Ciascuna di queste storie e’
dedicata ad uno dei personaggi creati dal Maestro dell'Oregon.
Sul numero 150 del mensile troviamo Romano Scarpa con la storia
"Zio Paperone – Le carote dell'allegria" ("Funny carrots").
L'avventura, oltre al ritorno di Brigitta e Cuordipietra Famedoro
in una storia di Scarpa, segna anche il ritorno del maestro alle
sceneggiature

A seguire vedremo Ferioli, Don Rosa, Vicar, Branca, Rota e altri.
Per chi invece non vuole aspettare, e’ stato pubblicato sempre in
questi giorni il volume (un po’ caro a dir la verita’) “Barks’
Friends” contenente le dieci storie di omaggio a Barks e con una
splendida copertina di Marco Rota.

Il prestigioso premio "afNews International Internet Award"
assegnato ogni anno dall’Anonima Fumetti ai migliori siti web di
argomento fumettistico (http://www.fumetti.org/aiia/2002.htm) e’
stato assegnato, per la categoria “sito italiano su un Autore di
fumetti” al sito di Giorgio Pezzin e Manuela Marinato
http://www.fumettiestorie.com
Congratulazioni agli autori che verranno premiati a Torino in
occasione della mostra Torinocomics.

= 4. In Edicola =

Con il numero 13 e con un'intervista a Luciano
Bottaro,recentemente premiato a Cartoomics
(www.lucianobottaro.it/archivio/cartoom.htm),
si interrompe dopo tre anni la pubblicazione del Nuovo Almanacco
Topolino. Onestamente non saro’ tra quelli che ne sentira’ la
mancanza: partito con promesse e progetti ambiziosi si e’ perso
quasi subito, riproponendo storie non eccelse (per usare un
eufemismo...) degli anni settanta.
Al suo posto nasce una nuova serie: "Le Imperdibili" sempre
contenente le storie a quattro strisce per pagina.
Per i “Super Miti Mondadori” è uscito "I Grandi Misteri" con
molte avventure di Paperino e Topolino alla ricerca di civiltà
scomparse. Tra queste due ottime avventure disegnate da De Vita:
"Topolino e l'enigma di Mu" dove appare per la prima volta
Zapotec e "Topolino e gli enigmi del tempo" con Marlin e la
macchina del tempo.
In "PaperOscar", invece, vi segnaliamo, fra le altre, due storie
di Cavazzano: "Paperino e l'insolito remake" nella quale
Paperino, Topolino e soci ripropongono la famosa avventura di
Gottfredson "Topolino giornalista", e "Zio Paperone alla
conquista del leone d'oro" dove Cavazzano porge un omaggio al suo
maestro Romano Scarpa citando la storia di Paperin Hood.

= 1. Meetings and exhibitions =
===============================

It is now starting the season of comics-related meetings and
exhibitions.
The most interesting one seems to be the one of Torinocomics
(http://www.torinocomics.com/) where is scheduled the presence of
many authors in public meetings, including the American Disney
artist Don Rosa. There are two meetings that will be of
particular interest for Disney comics fan: friday 26th April at
16.00 Don Rosa will be with his fans drawing and autographing
comic books (Sala Jacovitti) and Saturday 27th at 15.00 “DON ROSA
E IL RINASCIMENTO DISNEYANO”, a meeting with Don Rosa with Luca
Boschi, Lidia Cannatella, Gianfranco Goria, Alberto Becattini,
Luciano Gatto, Valerio Held (Sala Jacovitti).
Sooner than Turin there will be the 16th edition of the Roman
exhibition Expocartoon (http://www.expocartoon.net/); once again
in the EUR buildings, but sadly this time there will be an
admittance ticket! For the ones interested the appointment is
from 18th to 21st of April.

= 2. Tribute to Carl Barks =
============================

To celebrate the 101st year from Barks’ birth, Disney Italia
started to issue on his monthly publication “Zio Paperone” the
ten stories produced by Egmont and realized by different authors.
Each one of the stories is devoted to one of the character
created by Carl Barks.
On the current issue numer 150 there is the Romano Scarpa story
"Zio Paperone – Le carote dell'allegria" ("Funny carrots"). The
adventure, besides the return of Brigitta Mc Bridge and
Flintheart Glomgold in a Scarpa story, is also the return of the
Maestro to the story writing

Then we’ll see the stories from Ferioli, Don Rosa, Vicar, Branca,
Rota and others.
For the ones who don’t want to wait it has been issued a nice
(but quite expensive) volume “Barks’ Friends” containing all the
ten stories and with a great cover drawn by Marco Rota.

The award "afNews International Internet Award" given each year
by the Anonima Fumetti to the most interesting web sites about
comics (see http://www.fumetti.org/aiia/2002.htm) was won, for
the category “Italian web site about a comics author” to Giorgio
Pezzin and Manuela Marinato for their own website
(http://www.fumettiestorie.com)
Our best congratulations to the authors who will receive the
prize in Turin during the meeting Torinocomics.

= 4. For sale in kiosks =
=========================

With the 13rd issue and an interview to Luciano Bottaro, who
recently received a prize at Cartoomics
(http://www.lucianobottaro.it/archivio/cartoom.htm), comes to an
end the adventure of Nuovo Almanacco Topolino. I’m not among the
ones who will be sorry for this: this publication started with
ambitious targets, but has soon got lost by reprinting
uninteresting stories from the seventies, instead of the most
interesting (and rares) ones from the fifties...
It will be replaced by a new publication: "Le Imperdibili" that
will contain the four-tiered stories.
In the serial “Super Miti Mondadori” has been issues "I Grandi
Misteri" reprinting some adventures with Mickey and Donald
looking for ancient cities. Among the others there are also two
stories drawn by Massimo de Vita: "Topolino e l'enigma di Mu"
where appears for the first time professor Zapotec and "Topolino
e gli enigmi del tempo" with Marlin and the time machine.
In another special issue (devoted to the Academy Awards)
"PaperOscar", there are two interesting stories by Giorgio
Cavazzano: "Paperino e l'insolito remake" where Donald, Mickey
and friends play a remake of the famous Gottfredson story "Mickey
Mouse editor in grief", and "Zio Paperone alla conquista del
leone d'oro" where Cavazzano makes a tribute to his master Romano
Scarpa in citing the story “Paperin Hood”.

- Paolo
